About the Authors

When you read a news entry here, there’s always a person who wrote it.

Here’s a brief summary of who our reporters are and some information about each one:

Randy Hammer (Hammer) has had his work printed in many various publications over the years, but turned to the World Wide Web in 2005 and has never looked back. He’s also never one to shy away from controversy. Randy is a huge fan of local youth and prep sports, but his favorite topics include pointing out the ineptitude, misbehavior and outright ignorance of many of today’s public figures. When he sees a wimp, a thug, a tool or a dolt, he’s not afraid to call a spade a spade. If you’re in the public eye, here’s some advice: don’t do anything stupid — you just might wind up being the subject of a Hammer column.

Kevin Missel (coach) is a former award-winning newspaper reporter. Over the years, he’s become a jack-of-all-Internet-trades. What gives him more of a perspective is that he’s also been a coach at every level from assistant tee ball to head high school varsity. Journalism 101 professors may call that a conflict of interest, but Kevin’s perspective of both coach and reporter has led to a “when he speaks, people listen” reputation. He says his life passion is to serve others and serve God, and he enjoys finding creative ways to do both. Kevin lives on the family farm with his wife and four children.
